Summary of the position

We are looking for a full-time accountant to perform daily bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other various accounting related functions within the organization. This position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and works closely with multiple stakeholders in the organization.

What you’ll be doing

Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare and distribute monthly invoices
  • Maintain and reconcile monthly Invoice Register
  • Record invoice payment
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts
  • Liaise with customer and Sales Managers for billing issues
  • Prepare monthly accounts receivable aging report
  • Assist in maintenance of Contract Listings

Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices and expense claims
  • Prepare weekly payment run
  • Reconcile business credit cards transactions
  • Manage and maintain commission payable schedules
  • Prepare and reconcile revenue share reports

Budgeting:

  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Input budget data into the accounting system
  • Assist in budget variance analysis

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly financial statement with supporting schedules and notes
  • Assist in monthly financial data upload (to joint venture partner)
  • Complete other financial reports as required

Other:

  • Prepare GST/HST return worksheet
  • Assist in preparation of working paper as required by external auditors
  • Other related duties as required

 

What you’ll bring

  • A degree or diploma in accounting or related field 
  • 2+ years of accounting experience   
  • Proven knowledge of full cycle accounting  
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill 
  • Good work ethic, strong organization skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently 
  • Enthusiastic, team player 
  • Enrolled in CPA program or working towards CPA Designation preferred but not mandatory 
  • Sage 50 Premium experience is an asset
