Through our employee feature series, we like to highlight key employees at Pelesys and their departments to show how they contribute to our company’s success.

 

In this employee feature series, we’re highlighting Ryan Anderson our DevOps Manager who has been with Pelesys for over 9 years. Ryan’s role and the development team are instrumental at Pelesys as they are responsible for looking after the deployment procedures for all of our customer sites and training management and deployment system (TMDS) integration projects. He also implements specific client requirements for integration projects and manages our Tier 2 level of support personnel.

Ryan, please let us know about a project at Pelesys you were proud to be a part of.

Recently I was in charge of overseeing and advancing the deployment process from a manual installer to a continuous deployment pipeline delivery system. This update will increase the speed and number of clients we can deploy to at a given time.  This, in turn, allows us to potentially have a faster turnaround for clients when they report critical issues with us. Overall this will improve our customer experience ensuring the delivery of our aviation training services continues to be one of the best in the industry.

 

Before you were at Pelesys what did you do?

Before Pelesys I was a business for-self Software Developer for an Electronic Library System.

 

What do you love the most about Pelesys?
The environment and my fellow colleagues are what make Pelesys such a great company to work with. As far as my role I love being a part of the ins and outs of the training management and deployment system. As an expert with the system, I find troubleshooting tricky issues an incredibly rewarding part of my role.

 

Tell us a bit about yourself – what do you like to do when you’re not at work?

When I’m not at work I love to spend time with my family playing board games or video games.  As a form of relaxation, I will spend some time building 1000+ piece puzzles since I just can’t get enough of solving items.  Also, going for a swim is a great way to destress.

 

Since aviation is the core of our business we’d love to know where is your favourite place to have traveled to and what trip is on your bucket list?

The place that I’ve traveled to that I’ve liked the most was Hawaii because the oceans are amazing there and swimming is a big part of my life. On my bucket list, I would love to travel across a few places in Europe seeing the historical castles from different regions.
