One department that is vital to Pelesys is our Customer Support team. They are the first team members to speak with clients or potential customers and typically have the most regular contact with our customers. Whether they are introducing our services, or troubleshooting issues our customers may be experiencing they are our first line of support and we take great pride in their ability to deliver amazing customer service.
In this employee feature profile, we are highlighting Vicky Miller a Project Manager on our Customer Support Team who has been with us for over 3 years. Vicky works closely with our customers throughout their journey with Pelesys which means she interacts daily with all of the departments at Pelesys ensuring a positive experience for our customers.
Vicky’s role is unique as she operates remotely out of England along with other members of her team who are based in Germany and Canada. Learn more about Vicky and our customer support team below.
What do you do at Pelesys?
My role at Pelesys is a varied one, I am one of four project managers in my team. We work with the customer throughout their journey with Pelesys. Starting with discovery sessions, workflow solution, implementation, and post-sales support. To make this journey as smooth as possible we work closely with all departments – development, sales, and support. No two projects are ever the same!
What did you do before Pelesys?
Prior to Pelesys, I started my career in the travel & aviation industry in 1999. I built up my experience in various roles before becoming a contractor in 2008. Since then I’ve worked with various airlines, travel technology providers and training organizations. Projects included courseware design and development, training delivery, managing support centre implementations, and software projects. I moved around A LOT! I spent quite a bit of time in the Middle East and one of my most ambitious projects led me to work in Afghanistan on a new airline start-up. That was a hair-raising experience!
What do you love the most about Pelesys, the company?
What I love most about Pelesys is my team. We are all spread out -U.K. Germany, East and West Coast Canada, despite being a remote worker we are close-knit and have a great working relationship.
What do you love the most about your specific role within Pelesys?
The fact it’s so varied. There is never a boring day – only a busy one! I enjoy working with different airlines and meeting new people along the way.
Tell us a bit about yourself – what do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Travel that has to be one of my favourite pastimes – although it’s more relaxed these days with my one-year-old daughter in tow! I am very lucky to live in the south of England, there is a plethora of things to do down here, weekends are often spent on the beach, country walks or exploring some historical site. Winter is my favorite season as afterwards, it’s nice to cozy up in front of the fire with a large glass of red wine!
What’s your favourite place you have ever traveled to?
This is a tough question! I’ve been fortunate to travel over 67 countries, to choose 1 is near on impossible! So, here are my top 5. New Zealand for its amazing scenery, Thailand for its culinary delights, Jordan for its rich history, Hong Kong for city life and finally England (of course!) because it has all the above!
What’s trip is on your bucket list?
I have always loved the idea of hiring a classic sports car and do a food and wine tour of Italy. Although I may not be able to fit in the car toward the end of the trip!
